A high-performance computing platform for a major car manufacturer, joined during final integration and release preparation, where components from several suppliers meet on one piece of hardware.
- Challenge
Issues only appeared once independently developed vehicle components ran together on target hardware, which is the hardest place to reproduce and diagnose them.
- Solution
I integrated and deployed platform components on NVIDIA Xavier hardware and worked in the final debugging layer before release, analysing logs, runtime behaviour and communication across the platform, the hardware and supplier components, then implementing and verifying fixes directly on target.
- Result
Release workflows for systems including adaptive cruise control, automated parking and emergency braking were supported through to release, with repetitive engineering tasks automated in Python.
